Defensive -- Stealing passes, preventing drives to the hoop.
Forward - Used for close in shots and rebounds. They use screens (standing motionless to block an opponents path) to free a teammate to receive a pass in the key.
Offensive -- Drive for goals, make shots from outside key.
Defensive -- Rebounds, preventing drives to the net.
Center - They are used primarily for rebounding.
Offensive -- Get open to make a shot.
Defensive -- Keep Opponents from shooting (blocking, deflecting shots).
